Arthur B. Crawford Dies At His Home At Kamiah

Kamiah - Arthur Brian Crawford, 76, a retired railroad foreman and a resident of the Kamiah area for the past 12 years, died at his home here at 9:15 Friday morning. he had been employed by the Craig Mountain Railroad Co. at Winchester from 1940 until 1961.

Previous to that, Crawford worked as a warehouseman at Craigmont from 1910 to 1940.

He was born July 27, 1896 at Juliaetta, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Crawford. He moved with his parents to the Morrowtown area and received his schooling at the old Morrowtown School.

He married Meda A. Wamsley at Nezperce Oct. 24, 1916. She survives at the family home.

Other survivors are a son, Francis A. Crawford, Clarkston; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor M. Raspone, Clarkston, and Mrs. Geraldine M. Johnson, Santa Rosa, Calif.; two brothers, James Crawford, Craigmont, and Edward Crawford, Winchester; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel S. Wamsley, Craigmont, and Mrs. Jessie M. Kelly and Mrs. Lillie Stephens, both of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 Tuesday morning at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston, with the Hansen-Noland Funeral Home of Kamiah in charge.
