Willis Raymond Cole, age 95, of Luther Franklin Lane in Linville Falls, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the St. Joseph's campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
He was born on December 1, 1918 in Swain County. He was the son of the late Daniel Moses and Cora Lee Blankenship Cole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Tolley Cole who passed away in 2012. He was also preceded in death by his son; Butchie Cole; his daughters; Louise Biddix, Christine Tolley, Patricia Ann Cole, and Elaine Cole; his brothers; Wamper, Jess, Hollis, and Ted Cole; and his sisters; Debbie Shelton, Cyrnthia Roper, Ella Mae Gouge, Sylvia Gibson, and Velma Roper.
Willis Cole leaves behind his daughter; Maxine Cole of Linville Falls; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
