Ann Isabella Calverley, daughter of Richard Calverley and Mary Richardson, was the wife of German French Sr. Ann and German were married on 6 Feb 1872 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at 188 West Van Bruen St. Issue: Elbert, William Marson, William Richard, German Jr, Steven, Clara Isabella and Fred French.

Ann came to America in 1851 with her father and mother and her half sister, Jane Pearson, and her half brother, Samuel Pearson. Arriving on 24 May 1851 in New York aboard the ship Franklin.
