Marie was a long-time resident of Allentown, PA where she and her husband Gerald Appel raised their family. Joining her husband for his new job, she moved to Southern California.
After his death Marie moved to the Roseburg-Sutherlin areas in Oregon. In Oregon Marie became involved with the American Red Cross. She was extremely proud of the work she did both in the office and at disaster locations. Requiring two knee replacements slowed her involvement.
She then moved back to California.
Marie is survived by her children Anita Telles, Sandra LaBella, Gerry Hutson and Craig Appel; sisters Loretta Bleamer and Susan Baver; brothers William Baver and Thomas Baver; a grandson Jason LaBella and many more caring and loving relatives and friends.
No memorial service is planned as Marie donated her body to a teaching hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to her two favorite organizations are requested either the American Red Cross or the Good Shepherd Home in Allentown, PA.
