Aged 5 years, Emma burned to death at Jones Station, Jefferson Township. "On Monday a little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Aber, while playing about the fire, got too near and her clothing ignited. Before the flames could be extinguished, the little one was terribly burned. She died from the effects of her injuries on Thursday." Her body was prepared for burial at Abraham Funeral Home and was buried at Lobbs Run Cemetery on February 26, 1886.
