She was born on March 30, 1929 in Keokuk, IA a daughter to George H. & Clara L. Kennedy King. Betty retired from Methode Electronics in Carthage, IL after working over 18 years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. Betty enjoyed embroidery and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed her friends at the Hamilton Senior Center. Betty was known for her great sense of humor and her fun loving spirit.
She is survived by five children: Janice Burkhart and her husband Matthew of Spring Valley, IL, Robert Alexander and his wife Georgeann of Hamilton, IL, Steven Alexander of Kirksville, MO, John Alexander and his wife Tracy of Hamilton, IL and Mary Thompson and her husband Jim of Hamilton, IL; nine grandchildren: Brian & Jeremy Alexander, Quinton & Lauren Alexander, Lindsay Thompson, Nathan & Hannah Alexander, and Jesse & Erika Nichols; five great grandchildren; one sister: Ann Sweet of Keokuk, IA; one brother-in-law: Bob Neff, and her cat: Madison. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: George King and two sisters: Mary Louise Parsons and Clara Neff.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.
Visitation will be after 3 PM on Thursday with family meeting with friends from 5 to 7 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 1212 Concert St. in Keokuk. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 6:30.
Memorials may be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
