US Navy Peacetime Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the United States Navy as a Coxswain on board the "USS Adams". He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery on June 30, 1903. His citation reads " for gallantry, rescuing O.C. Hawthorne, landsman for training, from drowning at sea, 30 June 1903." His Medal was awarded on July 31, 1903.
