Bessie Ellen Arnold, age 94, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Wythe County, VA (the Piney Community) passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 14, 2014 with her family by her side.

She was born in Wythe Co. VA on June 9, 1919 the daughter of the late Leftwich Harman and Ella Groseclose.

She had attended the Liberty Hill Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Kelly Arnold; children, Jeanine Coleman, Janet Porter, Larry Peyton Arnold, Sr. and is survived by her grandchildren, Steve Coleman whom she made her home with the past 13 years, Vickie Coleman, Lori Coleman all of Richmond, VA, Teddy and Tammy Porter of Fort Chiswell ,VA, Nelson Porter of Florida, Larry Peyton Arnold, Jr. of Rural Retreat, VA, Donna Porter of Max Meadows, VA, Michael Arnold of Galax VA and Jill Boukadida of Christiansburg VA; 18 Great-Grandchildren, 24 Great-Great-Grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Harman Arnold of Dublin, VA. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Arnold Family.
