Von Luciene "Lou", Ernest Ross, Dorr Robert and Clifford Brinks McCray were sons born to Grant Spinola and Addie Minerva Roberts McCray at Elgin Erie Co PA. Grant was the son of John T. and Sarah J. Blakeslee McCray. Addie was the daughter of Harvey F. and Sarah Catherine Roberts Roberts.
19 Jan 1916 Ashtabula Co OH Clifford married Ethel E. Walker, daughter of James B. and Sophrona Bockey Walker.
To their marriage were born Roger M., 2 baby sons, both died young, Douglas James and Cynthia E. McCray.
Clifford worked as a Brakeman for the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad out of Ashtabula OH for awhile. Then became a plumber for many years. While in NM he was a teacher at a vocational school as was his second wife, Hattie.
It is a bit confusing exactly where he may be buried as statement in his obituary: He has been taken to the Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminister, S.C.? (that's what is printed) for services and interment. So a bit more research has to be done in hopes of actually finding his burial site. Sometimes we have the answer to a wonderment right in the file. Seems there may have been a divorce as 1940 he is married to a Hattie b 1900 South Carolina. Ohio 1940 census lists Ethel as divorced.
