Officer Eugene J. Bauer, DSN 2752, was originally hired as a civilian on 11/04/1957. In this capacity he held the following assignments. They were the Central District (Driver), 4Th District (Driver), Uniform Section (Driver), Central District (Driver), 4Th District (Driver), and finally a Motor Service Attendant. He left the department on /04/15/1963 for personal reasons and was rehired on 03/22/1965 as a Turnkey.

Officer Bauer received his commission and entered the academy on 01/17/1966. After graduation he was assigned to the 7Th, 1St, 7Th, and finally the Traffic Safety Division.

Officer Bauer received 3 Chief's Letters of Commendation on 01/01/1965, 03/01/1968, and 06/17/1977 for police work above the call of duty.

When Officer Bauer retired on 05/02/1994 he had completed 36.49 years a faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
