She was born May 30, 1922 in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Leonard Schlagel and Rosie (Hogg) Schlagel.
Mrs. Kienzle was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she was a secretary for the Butler Credit Bureau,and later she worked for the VNA, retiring on June 8, 1991. Mrs. Kienzle was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the New Testament Baptist Church. She also enjoyed babysitting, visiting shut-ins, and visiting people in nursing homes and hospitals.
Mrs. Kienzle is survived by one step-daughter, Carol Ann Craig and her husband Thomas of Butler, PA; one granddaughter, Kelly Giles and her husband John of Butler, PA; one grandson, Tom Craig and his wife Monica of Grove City, PA; five great grandchildren, Grant Craig, Ian Craig, Lance Craig, Zachary Giles and Zoe Giles; two sisters, Irene Trufley of Slippery Rock, PA and Mary Christie of Petrolia, PA and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter James Kienzle whom she married on June 25, 1973 and who passed away on December 29, 1987; and also by three brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Steve Fisher, of New Testament Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
