Charlie was the son of Lewis and Bertha Genolia (Wray) Arwood/Arrowood, who predecease him.

Charlie was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas in 1972 after 22-years of service.

Charlie was a resident of Austin, Texas at the time of his death. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.
