Mary Rosetta Judd was born in Indiana [sic], May 9, 1879, and departed this life at Morrellton, Mo., May 31, 1934, at 12:30 p.m. at the age of 57 years 22 days. She was united in marriage with Thomas Judd about the year 1894. To this union was born two children, Leo and Russell. Her husband and son, Leo, preceded her to the great beyond. The husband died in 1916 [sic] and the son in 1914. Her father, mother, and two sisters died in previous years.
Mrs. Judd united with the New Hope Baptist Church when 18 years of age, and lived a devoted Christian life. In August 1930, she removed her membership to the Reedville Baptist Church and was one of its most active members as long as health permitted her to attend. Her kindness and hospitality to everyone will be greatly missed.
She leaves to mourn her loss one son, Russell, and his wife of Pea Ridge, one sister, Mrs. Tressa Higginbotham of Morrellton, one brother, Dock Ward, of Valley Park, Mo., and four step children, also other relatives and a host of friends.
Burial was made at Pea Ridge with a funeral sermon by the Rev. R. C. Maness in the Woodman Hall at that place.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Judd lived for a number of years in the Aligire neighborhood and Mr. Judd was the first postmaster at that place. Later they moved to Pea Ridge where a post office was established, and Mr. Judd was appointed to postmaster at that place and held that position until his death, after which, Mrs. Judd filled the position until recently when the office was discontinued.
