Danny James was born to Wallace William and Mary Virginia Abernathy on July 25, 1951 in Clarksville, Texas. He married Mary Beth Hennig at the Church of Assumption in West, Texas on November 18, 1972. Danny was known as "Mr. Orney" and loved his grandchildren: Runt, Squirt, Trouble, and Shorty. He loved his horses, fishing, and the outdoors. Danny adored his four grandchildren giving them tractor rides and playing with them.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Abernathy; their children, Michelle Abernathy, Eric Abernathy and his wife, Stacie; grandchildren: Samantha, Joshua, Jayden, and Jarrett Abernathy. Danny is also survived by his brothers: William "Butch" Abernathy and wife, Janice, Steve Abernathy and wife, Angie, and Mark Abernathy and wife, Lisa; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Those serving as a pallbearer are the following: Rodger Burdick, Larry De La Garza, Chris Hoover, Brent Mink, Eddie Nash, and Billy Pavelka. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mary and brother, Jackie Abernathy.
