LYMAN FROST
Submitted by Mrs. John E. Carter

Lyman Frost, son of Samuel and Keziah Frost, was born November 18, 1805 at Ludlow, Massachusetts.
The first Frost arrived to the New World at a port in Florida, shortly after Charles the Second became King of England. They then traveled up the Eastern coastline until they finally settled in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, where Lyman was born. [THE LEGEND IN THIS PARAGRAPH IS NOT CORRECT AND HAS BEEN DISPROVED!! Lyman's parents moved their family to the state of New York in 1815 where Lyman grew up and received his schooling.
He met Hannah Ufford (whose family was very prominent in early Connecticut history) and they were married shortly afterwards.
After their first two children were born, Lyman made the decision to move to Tioga County, Pennsylania, where he became involved in farming and stock raising. They raised their four sons and six daughters on their Pennsylvania farm.
In 1868, with their family raised and gone from home, with the exception of their youngest son, Lyman Luke, Lyman and Hannah decided to make one more move. This time they traveled westward by train until they reached Hamilton, Missouri. After much checking they finally purchased a 407 acre farm and prepared to start raising graded cattle.
After receiving word from his parents, Lyman Luke, in the same year at the age of twenty, left Pennsylvania driving a horse drawn wagon loaded with the family's household furnishings. (Among the furniture was a small walnut table which is still being used in the family.)
Hannah died April 25, 1884 and was buried in the Mirabile Cemetery and on August 6, 1896, Lyman joined her.
