Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette for Floyd John Savoie, 74, who died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center.
Interment will take place at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
The Rev. Timothy Richard, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Mr. Savoie, the son of the late Lawrence Savoie and the former Eva Herpin, was a native of Cankton and a resident of Lafayette. He worked on the farms and did carpentry work for the University of Louisiana, retiring after 27 years of service. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, traveling and horses. He will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Marie G. Savoie of Lafayette; one daughter, Pam Meaux and husband, Steven, of Lafayette; two sons, Michael Savoie and wife, Elizabeth, of Lafayette and Lawrence Savoie and wife, Jenny, of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Kevin Savoie, Jamie Meaux and Morgan Meaux; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Sue Moreau of Texas; and two brothers, Harold Savoie of Duson and Roland Savoie of Cankton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Meche Savoie; and one brother, Gerald Savoie.
Pallbearers will be Michael Savoie, Lawrence Savoie, Steven Meaux, Kevin Savoie, Frank Boudreaux and Greg Boudreaux.
