Mrs. Abbie Elizabeth Allen, aged 65, wife of William Blake Allen, town treasurer and registrar of deeds, died at the home on Grennell street Saturday night after a long illness. Mrs. Allen was a native of Jamaica, Vt., and came to Greenfield from Deerfield to make her home. She had been a resident of Greenfield for many years. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal church. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Miss Ethel I. Allen, two sons, Albert B. and CHarles Allen, all of Greenfield, and a brother, Nelson Varney of Huntington, L. I. The funeral was held at home on Grinnell street Monday at 2 o'clock, with Rev. John B. Whiteman officiating and interment was in the Green River cemetery.
