Connie Peal Fuqua
Connie Peal Fuqua, a long time resident of Sugarland, Texas passed away Monday, January 13 at her home with her loving husband and children by her side after her hard fought battle with cancer at the young age of 67. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on November 12, 1946, to the late William Ralph Peal and Betty Jo Carter Peal.
Connie had a nurturing, selfless spirit with an inspiring ability to open her heart and home to those in need. Connie graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport. Among the numerous employments and places she gave of herself she was most proud of her time volunteering at the Child Advocates of Fort Bend doing what she loved.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Steve Fuqua, stepmother Martha Cloyd Peal, sons David, Brad, and John Fuqua, daughters-in-law Angie Fuqua and Sherri Fuqua, brother Gary Peal, sisters Brenda Jones and Susan Sumner, brothers-in-law Don and Ken Fuqua, Mike Sumner and Don Metcalf, sisters-in-law Linda Metcalf and Kelly Peal, grandchildren Alden, Maren, Stephen, Kate, Veronica, and DJ Fuqua, and great grandchild Hannah, along with numerous nieces and nephew.
A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church, 2655 S. Mason Rd., Katy, TX 77450, where she was a faithful and serving member.
