Elizabeth Catherine Reid was the daughter of Elizabeth and Reuben Reid. She married George Player Cook, a doctor, in Butler County, Alabama in 1852. They had seven children: Phillip, Margarett, Elizabeth, Robert, Louisa, George, and Beulah. The family lived in Douglassville, Cass County, Texas for many years. Elizabeth outlived four of her seven children. Elizabeth died at the age of 60 in Paris, Texas.
