Florinda Hidalgo-Aragón, a resident of Santa Fé, passed away early on Sunday morning, January 5, 2014 at the age of 93.
Florinda was born on August 24, 1920 to Santiago and Ramona (Baldonado) Hidalgo, one of 11 children born on the Hidalgo family ranch in Jarales, NM. Florinda will be remembered for her passion and her time spent playing tennis. There is little doubt she was already playing a tennis match in heaven by noon. Florinda was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, two children, Andrew and Ramona and two grandchildren, Robert Aragón and Dean Marsh.
Florinda is mourned by her sole surviving brother, Lalo Hidalgo (Erlinda), daughter, Florinda (Tootsie) Marsh and son, Patrick Aragón. Florinda also leaves behind eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2014 at San Francisco Xavier Mission Catholic Church in Jarales at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow in the Bosque Cemetery. The family will receive friends and neighbors for a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Belen.
