Alfred attended Pueblo Pintado, Crownpoint and Albuquerque Indian School. He also went to the Intermountain Inter-Tribal School in Utah. He worked the railroad, drove a preschool bus, worked in Colorado during harvest and worked for NAPI.
His hobbies were ranching, hauling wood and spending time with his grandkids when they came to visit.
Alfred is preceded in death by his son, Johnathan Keith Harrison; parents; brother, Donald Harrison; paternal grandparents, Mary Commanche and Lewis Chavez; and his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Lewis Chiquito.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline H. Harrison; sons, Alfred Harrison Jr., Gerald Harrison and Sampson Harrison; daughters, Sheila H. Largo and Denise Woody; brothers, Samuel Harrison, Larry Harrison, Nelson Harrison and Herbert Harrison; sisters, Ella Mae Zale, Alice Chavez, Florence Harrison and Maxine Griffith; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Cedar Hill Church, with Pastor Tully Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Counselor Community Cemetery.
A reception will be in the church after burial.
Pallbearers are Alfred Harrison Jr., Gerald Harrison, Sampson Harrison, Vincent Largo, Elijah Miguel Largo and Aurther Bonnie.
