Shamash Karim Crawford was born in Albuquerque, NM, June 27, 1972. He was raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico and currently resided in Sandia Park, NM. Shamash passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2005. He graduated from Capital High School in Santa Fe and went on with his education, becoming a Journeyman Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #611, working most recently at the National Labs in Albuquerque and Los Alamos. Shamash thoroughly enjoyed taking part in his children's sports and activities, and in their religious upbringing, as members of Holy Child Parish in Tijeras. He loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and will be remembered as a very generous and giving person, to all whom he can into contact with. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Herrera; brother, Andres Clemente and cousin, Sundance Solomon, Shamash is survived by his loving family: his parents, Billy Crawford and Yvonne Crawford; his two sons, Drew Thor Crawford and Chase Isaiah Crawford; the mother of his children, Kim Crawford; his grandparents, Aurora Herrera, William and Margaret Crawford; two brothers, Joaquin Lucero and Lief Crawford; one sister, Shannon Crawford; aunts, Lolanda Solomon and Terry Crawford; uncles, Jesse Herrera and wife Elaine, Mark Crawford and Randy Crawford; all of his brothers at the IBEW Union #611; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial services will be held at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2005. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Private family burial will take place at Canoncito de las Manuelitas Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
