Named at birth Adria Prudence, she preferred to be called "Ada". She was the 8th child and 4th daughter of Archibald McKinnon, Sr. and his second wife, Jane Brough.

Ada's daughter, Mary M. Muir, has written a history, entitled, THE MCKINNONS OF SCOTLAND. In the preface, Mary says her mother "...contracted rheumatic fever when she was quite young. The illness left her with a heart impairment and bouts of rheumatism which caused her to be confined, on occasion, to her bed or the quiet of recuperation at home. This misfortunate circumstance proved to be her good fortune for it was during periods of recovery that her father, Archibald McKinnon, spent precious time with her telling her of his homeland and of the McKinnons of Scotland."

I am grateful that a copy of Mary's history came to me and will be ever grateful that Ada, and her daughter, Mary remembered and recorded these accounts.

Ada married Samuel Morgan, on 14 Jun 1918.
