"MRS. CLARA MENTZER CALDWELL, wife of T.N. Caldwell, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mentzer, on Monday at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Caldwell had gone to spend the day with her mother nine weeks ago and while there was taken ill with what developed into typhoid fever which ended in spinal meningitis which resulted in her death. She suffered intensely, but with fortitude. Previously to her marriage she had been a prominent teacher in Frankstown township. She was a musician of rare ability and was a consistent member of the Lutheran church of Geeseytown, having joined in early girlhood. She was loved and respected by a large circle of friends. Mrs. Caldwell was aged about 22 years. She is survived by her husband and little son, Frank, her parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Grant McClellan of Geeseytown and Miss Myrtle Mentzer of Mentzer's Mills. The funeral service will be held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mentzer at Mentzer's Mills, on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, after which the body will be interred in the Geeseytown cemetery."
