Esther E. Blatt Bingaman, 94, Homeland Center, Harrisburg and formerly of Chambers Hill and Country Meadows, Hershey, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 in the home. Born in Jonestown on October 6, 1911, she was the daughter of the late David and Ellen Wagner Blatt. Esther retired as an elementary school teacher from Chambers Hill Elementary School and had taught at the former Murray School which was a one room school house by Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County. She was a 1928 graduate of Annville High School; and a 1930 graduate of the former Millersville State Teachers College. Esther was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown. She was also a member of the Hummelstown Flower and Garden Club, and the Pennsylvania State Teachers Retirees Association. Esther was an excellent seamstress; was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed trivia and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben E. Bingaman on June 11, 1975. Esther is survived by two sons, Stanley J. Bingaman, husband of Carol of Chambers Hill and David D. Bingaman, husband of Trudy of South Hanover Township; two daughters, Elaine B., wife of Russell E. King and Patricia A., wife of Thomas C. Rine, both of Colonial Park; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Friday, November 11, at Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown, Rev. Michael Beynon, a Chaplain at Homeland Center officiating. Interment in Hummelstown Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
