***Zonie Mae Johnson Childers 88, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Childers was born January 4, 1925 in Butler County, to the late Columbus and Effie Johnson . She was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church. Mrs Childers was a babysitter for many years and loved to quilt. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth Phelps, one infant daughter Imindie Phelps and ten siblings.
Mrs. Childers is survived by her husband of 50 plus years, Harold Childers of Morgantown; 3 daughters Mindie Marie Morris of Morgantown, Esther Phelps of Morgantown, Darlene C. Phelps and husband Kevin D. of Morgantown; 3 Sons Dudley Childers and wife Maxine of Morgantown, Harold Dean Childers and wife Tammy of Morgantown, Lehmon Phelps and wife Darlene of Morgantown. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; 1 sister Pansy Christian of Bowling Green; 1 brother Jesse Johnson of North Carolina.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Friday, August 2, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. with Bro: Mark Alford officiating. Burial will follow in the Peyton Phelps Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown.
