PEMBERTON, James Douglas 1889-1971

James Douglas Pemberton, 81, of Route 1 Fort Gay, died Monday, March 8, in a Louisa hospital. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Big Hurricane Baptist Church with the Rev. John Simpkins officiating.
Burial was in the Christian Cemetery, route 1, Fort Gay.

Born July 20, 1889, he was a son of the late John and *Sarah James Pemberton. A retired coal miner, he was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Amy Varney Pemberton; three daughters, Mrs. (Nancy) Tom Little of Defiance, OH, Mrs. (Sarah)William Lee of Chillicothe, OH, and Mrs. (Susan)Aaron Robinson of Cincinnati, OH; and seven sons,(James) Woodrow Pemberton of Cleveland, OH, Whitely Pemberton of North Platte, NB, Jay Pemberton of Inez, KY, John C. Pemberton of Deviance, Okey Pemberton of Hartford, CT, Julius Pemberton of Sebring, FL and Watson Pemberton of Miami, FL.

Arrangements were under the direction of Young Funeral Home.
