Richard Martin Price was the son of Nathaniel Martin Price (b. abt 1811, NC, d. Madison County, TN) and Mary M. Davis (b. abt 1815, Williamson County, TN, d. abt 1840, Williamson, TN)

Richard married Susan Ann Duffer (also spelled Duffee and Duffy) 14 Nov 1869 in Madison County, TN.

Richard and Susan Price moved from Madison County, TN to Paige, Bastrop County, TX around 1873. They moved about 20 years later to Clarksville, Red River County, TX.

Around 1906 Richard along with his 2 sons, and 2 married daughters moved to Hughes County (Indian Territory)Oklahoma. The men worked building bridges. Richard was older and "crippled" and was unable to do physical work and he lived with his son Edwin and Sarah Abigail Price. Sarah writes in her history: "Ed's father, I called him Pa, lived with us and he stayed with me and he was one of the most wonderful persons I ever knew. He was always so kind and considerate of me and helped me all he could. I loved him like a father, and he was a father to me."

Richard died in the Wetumka area. He is the only member of his family buried there. Several family descendants are buried at the Holdenville Cemetery, Hughes County. Other members of his family are buried in Red River County, Texas.
