Mabel B. Buckingham, 79 died Sunday at Johnson County Memorial hospital in Buffalo. She had been a resident of Story for many years.
Mrs. Buckingham was born Nov. 2, 1880, in Elliott, Ia., a town in Montgomery, Ia. She was reared there and attended Iowa schools. She affiliated with the Loman Christian church of Elliott at an early age. In the spring of 1898, her family moved to Bates county, Mo., to make their home. She was married on Nov. 2, 1902, in Julesberg, Colo., to Joseph A. Buckingham and the couple moved to the Story community to make their home.
She was preceded in death on Sept. 11, 1936, by her husband. Survivors are six children, Frederick L. Buckingham, Sheridan; Milo T., Story' Mrs. Sarah Gyla, Story; Mervin L. Buckingahm, Buffalo; Mrs. Della Ruth Rollman, Buffalo, and V. Curtis Buckingham of Cody.
She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Della Sampson, Boise, Ida., and a brother, Fred J. Todd, Sheridan. There are 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2 p.m. from Champion's with the Rev. E. K. Morrow of Story officiating. Burial will be in the Kearney cemetery.
