HASTINGS: Iris Rose Abbuhl formerly of Palisade area, died Tuesday May 21, 1991 at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings at the age of 72. She was born May 22, 1918 in Curtis to Merton E. and Etta Mae (Phelps) Mackey.

She lived in Lincoln before moving to Hastings. She married Frederick Abbuhl in Culbertson Oct. 29, 1936. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Palisade.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Frederick in January 1978; her parents; and three sisters, Hazel, Opal, and Ethel.

Survivors include two sons, Lee Abbuhl of Whitchita, Kan.,and Gary Abbuhl of Hutchinson, Kan.; one daughter, Patricia O'Connor of Durham, N.C.; three sisters, Maxine Claflin of McCook, Cleo Smith of Blair and Clara Wilcox of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Palisade with the Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Interment is in the Palisade Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name and left at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook which is in charge of arrangements.
