Died peacefully on Christmas day, surrounded by her four sons, in downtown Nashville, TN.
Born on the 25th of August, 1928 in Granada, MN to Eskel and Mabel (Huvda) Hiller, she was proud of her Swedish, Norwegian parents and Minnesota farming background. Her religious heritage was Lutheran and she became a member and raised her four sons at First Lutheran Church in downtown Nashville.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Charles Mark Baron; brother, Joel Hiller, MN; sister, Betty Olson, MN; sister, LaRayne Buesing, MN.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy McConnell, TN; sister, Marge Snyder, OH and sister, Darlene (Bill) Oliver, FL; sons, Michael (Nancy), Bruce (Rhonda), Mark (Chris), Joseph; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Donna lived a life of exciting experiences and relationships. She left home at an early age and moved to Miami, FL and worked directly for the famed Eddie Richenbacker at Eastern Airlines. The family lived in Tokyo, Japan, as part of Charles post war duties for several years. After Charles passed away in 1965, Donna went to school and earned her LPN nursing degree, working mainly for the former Parkview Hospital, to raise and care for her four sons. She particularly enjoyed caring for newborn babies. Donna was active with her sons Cub and Boy Scout adventures and supporting their various sport and club activities. In later years, she knitted for the Seaman's Institute for their ships worldwide.
A Memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church on Saturday morning, the 27th of December, 2013 at ten-thirty. Interment will be a private graveside for family members, at Stones River National Cemetery, Murfreesboro, TN where her husband, Charles Mark Baron was buried, with full 20 year military honors. Her grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Lutheran Church, Boy Scouts of America or Alive Hospice.
