Steve Aarvik, 56, passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital on December 9, 2013 surrounded by his family and closest friends. Steve was born in Seattle, Washington on August 5, 1957 to Sigurd and Borghild Aarvik. He followed his Norwegian roots and began fishing at the young age of 13. Steve graduated from Ingraham High School in 1975 and went on to marry the love of his life, Marit Pedersen, on June 11, 1982. Eventually, Steve became owner/operator of the fishing vessel, Windjammer. Steve enjoyed spending time with family, helping others, traveling, telling jokes and relaxing at his lake house.
Steve will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Marit; mother, Borghild; his only sister, Betty Brownlee and family; as well as four daughters, Sarah (Casey) McManus, Heather (Travis) Dunn, Erika (James) Hickok and Elisa. His memory will live on in the spirits of his three grandchildren, Charlie, Kaia and Jakob.
Funeral services will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, Washington on December 19 at 2 p.m.
