Robert "Bob" Richard McAboy

Robert Richard McAboy passed away on June 11, 2013 at the age of 92. Robert was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on February 14, 1921 to William E. and Lenore McAboy. He was the youngest of five children. The family moved to Yreka in 1929. Bob attended Yreka schools and graduated from Yreka High School in 1940. In 1942, he entered into the Army Air Corps. He served as a mechanic and line chief until his discharge in 1946, with the rank of Master Sergeant. After he was discharged, he worked for United Airlines in San Francisco for a short time. He returned to Yreka and worked for Eddy's Cabinet Shop for almost 3 years. He then entered into partnership with Don Bartlett and they started the business Don's Cabinet Shop. That partnership lasted 35 years.

Bob married Joy Seaman of Yreka in 1981. They enjoyed gardening, hiking, camping, traveling and lots of great family time.

Bob is survived by his wife Joy and children, Ray (Annie) Seaman of Hamilton, MT., Bob (Norma) Seaman of Happy Camp and Jane (Drew) Emmett of Springfield, OR. He leaves 6 grandchildren; Tim (Corrie) Seaman of Square Butte, MT., Heather (Stan) Meigs of Florence, MT., Pauline (Howard) Brodmerkle of Redding, Beth (Peter) Szabo of Benicia, Margaret (Brian) Browder of Incline Village, NV. and Jeff (Leah) Emmett of Springfield, OR. He also leaves 9 great-grandchildren; Ryan, Lillian, Olivia, Isaac, Kayla, Ben, Sam, Allison and Andy.

Graveside services interment will be held at Henley-Hornbrook Cemetery on Monday July 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Madrone Hospice.
