Marina Hatch Duffin 1926 ~ 2005 Marina Hatch Duffin peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her beloved husband on October 24, 2005. Marina was born in Panguitch, Utah on July 10, 1926 to Roy Cooper Hatch and Martha Heywood. Mom was the eldest of 11 children and spent a wonderful childhood with her siblings, whom she adored. Marina moved to Salt Lake City after graduation at Garfield High School in 1944, where she worked for the War Department in the ration office and later at Hill Field as secretary to the Adjutant General.
Mom married Maiben L. Duffin of Glenwood, Utah on November 30, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. They built a home in Bountiful, Utah where they were blessed with four children. Mom loved the Lord and, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served wherever asked until her health worsened. Of special meaning to her was her three year Stake mission with her husband Maiben prior to his death in 1989. Mom loved her pioneer heritage and was a proud member of the Stone Creek chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Marina leaves a legacy of kindness and love that continues to touch others' lives. As an avid genealogist, Mom searched the world for her ancestors and brought many to the blessings of the Temple. Much admired by those who knew her were her quick wit and spirited personality. Mom was a force to be reckoned with! We are happy for her but will miss her greatly. She is survived by her devoted children Kathryn (J.D.) Webb, Michelle (Lynn) Hill, Gregory (Janette) Duffin, Alison (Jared) Christiansen and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Roy Hatch, Karma Pectol, Arlene Bell, Arthur Hatch, Carol Moss, Glena Hullinger, Martha Maffei, and Rell Hatch. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the loving staff of Bountiful House and to the dedicated health care professionals who were so wonderful with her through the years. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday October 28, 2005 at the Bountiful Stone Creek Stake Center, 990 North 100 West. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Park, Bountiful, Utah. e-mail condolences to [email protected]
