AUGUST 1995
MARY JEAN STEGGE
Mary Jean Moore Stegge, 71, Joplin, Mo., died at her home Friday, Aug. 4, 1995. She was born Feb. 11, 1924, at Fort Scott. She graduated from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Junior College (Fort Scott Community College). She moved to Joplin from Carl Junction in 1950. She was a secretary for the former Rolla Stephens Realtors Co. from 1948 to 1988. She then worked as a clerk at Tri-State Motor Transit Co. from 1988 to 1993. She was a Methodist and a former member of the Joplin Pilot Club. She married Dudley Frank Stegge on Sept. 7, 1947, at Fort Scott. He died Jan. 7, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Stegge Wright, Kansas City, Mo.; and a sister, Patricia Smith, Fort Scott.
The Rev. Gary Thomas conducted services today at the Parker Mortuary in Joplin, followed by graveside services in Fort Scott National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Southern State College Athletic Football Scholarship.
