Sam Robinson Cooke Jr., 87, of Denver, a retired accountant and insurance executive, died March 14. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Cathedral, 1313 Clarkson Street, Denver. There was cremation.
He was born June 30, 1914, in Red Oak, Iowa.
In 1935, he married June Louise Rhoads in Red Oak. He served in the Army as a purchasing and contracting officer and was a captain in the Army Reserve. He retired from Midland Federal Savings as vice president. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jeanne Cooke Collins, Denver; and one granddaughter. Contributions may be made to the Red Oak Fire Department Rescue Squad, Red Oak, Iowa 51566.
