Gordon E. VAILS (01/16/1935 - 12/11/2013)

VAILS, Gordon E. (Age 81) Passed away December 11, 2013 in Spokane, WA. He was born January 16, 1932 in Pasco, WA to George and Marian Vails. He was a Past Worthy Patron, Electa Chapter #20, Order of Eastern Star; Past Worshipful Master of Audubon Park Lodge #272; and a member of the Scottish Rite and El Katif Shrine. He made his living as a commercial artist, but lived his life creating many wonderful memories for his family. Papa Grungy Bear's loving nature for his family will be remembered and cherished always. He was preceded by his wife of 54 years, Vonna. He is survived by: his son, Clayton Vails of Spokane; daughters, Shauna (Dave) Kamenz of Lacey, WA, Vernita (Dave) Scheel and Monica Vails, both of Spokane; brothers, Bruce Vails of Spokane and Clifford Vails in CA; five grandchildren, Aubrey and Nicholas (Kelly) Scheel, Alexandra, Matthew and Dana Kamenz; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Jackson Scheel; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, December 20, 2013 11:00am at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Interment at Fairmount Memorial Park. Gordon's concern for the wellbeing of children would wish any donations be directed to the Shriner's Hospital or Ritecare.
