FITZGERALD - Charlotte G., aged 80, passed away December 11, 2013 at Care One at Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Josef and Caroline Welzhofer Hormann, she was raised in Queens Village, NY and lived in Woodbury, NY for most of her life until moving to Hamilton seven years ago. Principally a homemaker, Charlotte was very active in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Woodbury, NY serving as Cantor, Eucharistic Minister and choir member.

Charlotte was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was very proud of her German heritage and still has many family members in Germany.

She is survived by her husband William L. Fitzgerald of Hamilton, NJ, her son and daughter-in-law Glen Fitzgerald and Susan Tierney of Yardville, NJ, her daughter and son-in-law Deirdre and Cosmo Volpe of Woodbury, NY, her grandchildren Dillon and Thomas Fitzgerald, her sister Joan Delayo of Washington, CT, as well as one neice and two nephews.

Services held at the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, Hamilton, NJ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael's Church, Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N. Hanover Twp., NJ.

Due to cemetery regulations prohibiting flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Society of the Little Flower, Darien, IL (littleflower.org).
