Mrs. Adams died Thursday, December 4, 1997 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a brief illness.
She was born on March 22, 1924 in Columbia to the union of Edgar and Annie Mason Myers. She resided in Columbia until moving to Monroe 12 years ago.
Mrs. Adams was an educator in Caldwell Parish for 31 years and had retired from the school system. She was an active member of North Monroe Baptist Church. She was a former member of Columbia Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of Gamma Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, the Caldwell Garden Club, and the Monroe Garden Club.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years Dr. James Blake Adams of Monroe; her sons and daughters-in-law, Blake and Brenda Adams, Curtis and Doll Adams, all of Monroe; her sister and brother-in-law, Rose Mary and Pat Gore of Metairie; her three grandchildren, whom she adored, Doll Ann, Elizabeth, and Chris Adams of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were: Monty Adams, Peter Adams, Bob Lewter, Tommy Parker, Gary Richardson, Glen Richardson, Kenny Smith, and Orvis Harold Watson, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were: Chris Adams, Dr. Wren Causey, Charles LaCroix, and Buddy Reynolds.
