In 1880 Henry Bode (38, born in the Netherlands, farmer), his wife Elizabeth (37, Netherlands), their children Gertie Bode (9, Illinois), Miky (8, Illinois), Maggie (5, Illinois) and Byron [Bernard] (1, Illinois) lived in Thornton [Township], just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. They had in 1882 a son called Floris.
His wife Elizabet died in January 1897 at the age of almost 31 years, very probably in or around South Holland, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois.
In 1910 Hendrick Bode (67, widower), his sons Bernhard (30), Floris (28, Illinois) and his brother-in-law Claus Dejoung (66, Holland) lived in Thornton [Township], Cook County, Illinois.
In 1920 Homdrick [!] Bode (77), his sons Bernard (41), Floris (40) and his daughter-in-law Gertie Bode (17, Illinois) lived at an own home, still in Thornton [Township], Cook County, Illinois.
Hendrik Bode died in March 1928 at the age of 85 years, very probably in or around South Holland, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois.
