Clyde Jake "C.J." Cody, Jr., 65, of Leicester, died Friday, December 6, 2013.

A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Clyde J. Cody, Sr., and Annie Thompson Cody. He was also preceded in death by wives Linda Cody and Hilda Tipton Cody.

Mr. Cody was a graduate of Western Carolina University, and was an avid supporter of the Catamount Club. He worked as an independent contractor for the Asheville Citizen Times. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church, and volunteered in the Man to Man Ministry.

Mr. Cody is survived by daughters Amber Cordell and husband Duane, Brooke Roberts and husband Jason, and Megan Cody; grandchildren Linda Cordell, Jake Cordell, Annie Roberts, and Olivia Roberts; sisters Linda Cody Shelton and husband Terry, Nancy Diaz and husband Richard, and Martha Batts and husband Al; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 14th, in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Sam McLamb and Scott Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
