Funeral services for H. M. Chappell, 70-year-old resident of Grayson, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Grayson, with the pastor, Rev. Virgil Jones, presiding, assisted by Revs. T. O. Arrington and Ira Love, officiating.

Mr. Chappell died Friday afternoon at a Columbia hospital folowing a long illness.

Burial was made in the Welcome Home Cemetery, east of Grayson on the Holum Road, under the direction of the Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. H. M. Chappell of Grayson; one son, W. E. (Bill) Chappell of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. J. Y. Pipes of Monroe, Mrs. Floyd O'Neal and Mrs. Don Elliott, both of West Monroe; three brothers, M. E. Chappell of Transylvania, G. B. Chappell of Wisner and Dennis Chappell of West Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Robert Cashman of Monroe; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
