Susan (Sue) Ernestine Elston, 75, passed away December 1, 2013 in Edmond, Okla. She was born April 10, 1937 in Woodward, Okla.

Susan married the love of her life, Johnny Elston, on May 28, 1955. They lived for short periods in Liberal, Woods, and Hugoton, Kan., before eventually settling in Guymon, Okla., to raise their family. After retirement in 1991, they moved to Edmond.

Susan's children and grandchildren were the pride of her life, and they provided her most precious memories. When not directly engaged with them, she enjoyed watching them play sports and participate in other activities. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. Susan loved working with the youth. While in Guymon she was very involved with Kids Inc. baseball and the Young American Bowling Association, where she received awards for being Coach of the Year.

Prior to retirement, she worked at Wirtz Lumber, Roger Hester's Sporting Goods Store, and the Texas County Election Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ernestine McDaniel; five brothers, and one sister.

Susan is survived by her husband, Johnny; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Ed Pearson and their children, Tanae and Cory Clark, Brandon and Jamee Pearson, Keith Pearson and Shayla Pearson; son and daughter-in-law, John and Garna Elston and their children, Leslie Vasquez and Audra and Jose Vasquez; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kari Elston and their children, Jarod Elston, Tyler Elston and Taryn Elston; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Delbert and Dale McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Susan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
