Pearl was born to Rudolph and Bertha (Roby) Kraemer on Jan. 2, 1917 on the family farm north of Alta in the Fairview community. She was baptized into the Methodist faith. After her marriage, she was confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She received her education in the Fairview Consolidated School.

Pearl married Arthur E. Peterson on Nov.r 18, 1936. To this union four children were born: Roger, Janet, Ronald, and Robert. She and her husband, Art, farmed and lived on the same farm for 55 years in the Fairview Community before moving to their home on Geneseo Street in Storm Lake in 1993. She moved to Wel-Life in Alta in 2003.

Pearl belonged to a neighborhood "Busy Bee" Club, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of WELCA, and a member of the Ruth Circle. She enjoyed doing things with her family and friends and was active in the church. She sewed close to 1,000 quilts for the church that were sent to Lutheran World Relief and also sewed some for her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; her son, Roger; four sisters, Minnie Kraemer, Mae Huseman, Bessie Norman, and Florence Kolpin; and two brothers, Henry and Walter Kraemer.
