Mattie Bluford Leopold, seventy-four years of age, passed away on June 6, 1999.

She was born one of sixteen children (eight boys and eight girls) born to the late Lucien and Plummie Anderson Bluford of Bonita, Louisiana.

On October 3, 1943 she married Roosevelt Leopold Sr and to this union nine children were born, seven daughter and two sons.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Roosevelt Leopold Sr; seven daughters, Mary (Charles) Pondexter, Ada (Ricky) George, Evon Buchanan, Golden (George) Dade, Melon (Alfred) Irving, Shirley (Antone) Beeks, and Rosie Sanders; two sons, Roosevelt (Mildred) Leopold and Marshall (Wyletta) Leopold; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillie (Willie) Wallace and Selena Lewis; a sister-in-law, Chrisanna Leopold; and a God-daughter, Edna (Kenny) Moore.

She preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Plummie Anderson Bluford; five sisters; and seven brothers .
