She was born in August 1860 as Trijntje Cleveringa in the country village Pieterburen, in the northwestern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, daughter of the 32 years aged day-laborer Derk Cleveringa en day-laborer Grietje Abels Bakema.

Trijntje Cleveringa married on 1 December 1889 in the city of Groningen at the age of 29 to the eight years older coachman Jacob Johannes Wolters, born on 11 September 1852 in the city of Groningen, widower of Bernarda Poel. Four months later, on 14 March 1890 her husband and coachman Jacob Johannes Wolters died in the city of Groningen at the age of 37 years.

Trijntje Cleveringa had on 16 August 1895 in Pieterburen as an unmarried servant maid son Berend Cleveringa.

Trijntje emigrated between August 1895 and July 1896 to the USA, Illinois, Cook County, Chicago or surroundings. Her brother Allert (born in 1867 in Pieterburen too. In the USA called: Albert) emigrated in April 1895 to the USA.

Tryntje Wottlers [!] remarried on 16 July 1896 in Illinois, Cook County, very probably in or around Chicago, at the age of 34 years to the three years older Nicolaus Auwerda, also born in the northeastern part of the Netherlands and widower of Trijntje Meilof, who died on 24 January 1890 in Dieverbrug, Dwingeloo, Drenthe, Netherlands at the age of 32 years.

In June 1900 Theresa (40, born Aug 1861 [1860] in Holland), her husband Nicholas Auwerde (35 y [42!], born in November 1865 [1857!] in Holland, factory hand), and the children Barnie (4, Aug 1895, [Pieterburen, Groningen] Holland), [Sara] Elizabeth (18, Nov 1881, [Smilde] Holland) and Henry (16 y, born in June 1883 [1884, Hoogersmilde] in Holland, factory hand), lived at a rented home at So. Turner Ave. in West Town, just west of Chicago's center, Ward 10, Cook County, Illinois. They immigrated in 1896. Barnie was born as Berend Cleveringa on 16 August 1895 in Pieterburen, Groningen, son of the unmarried servant maid Trijntje Cleveringa.

Theresa and Nicholas had on 29 October 1902 in Drexel, just west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois son Richard Auwerda.

In 1910 Katie (49), her husband Nick Auwerda (51), and their children Barney Auwerda (14, Holland), Richard (7, Illinois), Grace (5, Illinois) and John (4, Illinois) lived in Cicero, just west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

Treintje Auwerda died on 25 December 1925 in Cicero, just west of Chicago city, Cook County, Illinois at the age of 65 years. Her widower Nicolaas Cornelis Auwerda died in August 1933 in Berwyn, also just west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the age of 75 years.
