William Edward Albert, Jr., 67, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence.
He was born in Carlisle on May 18, 1946, a son to Sarah (Adams) Albert of Carlisle and the late William E. Albert, Sr.
Bill retired from the PA Liquor Control Board after many years of service. He was an avid golfer and bowler, participating in various leagues for both. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Bill was a lifetime member of the Middletown American Legion Post #594.
He is survived by his beloved wife, LeMarie Mahoney of Harrisburg; his mother, Sarah Albert of Carlisle; his son, Jason Albert of Carlisle; his daughter, Gretchen Spangler of Carlisle; his former wife, Kay Albert of Carlisle; his step-sons, Jason Mahoney of Lykens and Kyle Mahoney of Williamstown; a sister, Bonnie Rutz of Carlisle; and nine grandchildren, who he adored, Daniel, Justin, Emily, Riley, Ryan, Madison, Mason, Reese, and Miley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 from 10-11am at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg with a Memorial Service to celebrate his life to begin at 11am. Burial with full military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations offered to the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, 1701 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110; or to Susq. Twp. EMS, 108 Short St., Harrisburg, PA 17109.
