Mr. Crismond honorably served with The 80th Division in the European Theater in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He also was a graduate of Blacksburg High School in 1940. Mr. Crismond went on too attend Danville Tech in Danville, Virginia. He also was an active member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church in Blacksburg, Virginia. Mr. Crismond also served as Master of Hunters Masonic Lodge in 1961, and was past President of the Blacksburg Kiwanis Club. In 1971 to 1972 Mr. Crismond served as Lieutenant Governor of Capital District of 3rd Division of the Kiwanis International. Mr. Crismond was founder and owner of Blacksburg Transfer and Storage Company, an agent for area Mayflower Transit Company and retired in 1981. Mr. Crismond family consist of a wife of 58 years Nancy N. Crismond. Mr. Crismond also had one son Charles William Crismond and one granddaughter Melanie Ann Crismond, and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Crismond also had a sister Sue C. Pahner and twelve nieces and nephews, with special nieces Peggy and Pat Crismond. The family held a memorial service on Saturday, October 15, 2005, at 11:00 A.M., at Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Dr. Reginald Tuck Officiating. Mr. Crismond's ashes were then buried in Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Crismond was 82 years of age. Funeral arrangements were handled by McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, Virginia.
