Mrs. Ollle Hazel Cole Sutphin, 77, of Rt. 2 Bassett formerly of Hiwassee and Dublin died Tuesday morning in the Martinsville Memorial Hospital, Martinsville.

Born July 4, 1908, in Hiwassee she was the daughter of the late John Lee Cole and Myrtle Allison Cole.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Tanger Sutphin.

She was a member of the Fairway Baptist Church, Bassett.

She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1929, She attended Radford College, and taught in the Carroll County and Pulaski County Schools for many years.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Wanda) Mabe of Bassett, Mrs. Howard (June) "Hope" Corns, Bassett; one son, Carl Lent Sutphin of Bassett and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Max Creek Baptist Church, Hiwassee with the Rev. Edgar O'Dell and the Rev. Robert Marshall of officiating.

Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens,, Dublin., Visiting will be after 1 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the Bower Funeral Chapel Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Bob White Blvd., Pulaski is handling the arrangements
