Richard E. Barner Sr., 75, of Harrisburg died Wednesday in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was retired from the state Department of Transportation; a former employee of Phoenix Iron and Steel Corp.; a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and Riverside Fire Company; and a former member of the Hershey Bears Booster Club.

Surviving are his wife, Helen C. Barner; a son, Richard G. Jr. of Rutherford Heights; two daughters, Patricia Linn of Grantville and Barbara Roganish of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
